Taylor has spent years imagining being carried off by attractive vampires into the Blood Mountain fantasies she writes about. Abduction turns out to bear little resemblance to the fan fiction: tied to a chair in a damp basement, she discovers she is the centre of a revenge plot ten years in preparation. The series takes fan culture as its subject and follows the premise into genuinely uncomfortable territory rather than treating it as a joke.
