Viridian: Makes His Mark

Viridian James, better known as Vee, is a regular middle schooler who fills the backs of his worksheets with doodles and comic strips. When a classmate finds them, Vee braces for embarrassment, but the reaction is the opposite: people love them.

Encouraged by his new fans, Vee sets his sights on becoming the official cartoonist for the school paper and signs up for the contest to win the spot. He quickly discovers that other students want the job too, and that turning sketches into real comics takes more skill than he expected. Roland Boles kicks off a warm, funny series about creativity and confidence for young readers.
