The first arc concludes as Nira and Akeyo reach the hidden vault-island of Absolution and discover that what it holds is worse than anything rumoured in the Night Isles. Caught between the island itself and the Holy Fleet dispatched to destroy them, the crew of the Abyss make a final stand against the forces of the Vampyrium on the only terms the series allows: live free or die a Vampyrate. A conclusion that settles the arc rather than extending it.
