Star Trek: Zero Point #3

The Endeavour arrives at Orridior IV, a Class-M world made up of one enormous continent ringed by a poisonous sea. Its people are wary of humanoids, yet they urgently need a replacement deflector before a massive storm reaches the coast.

The job falls to Derril Zaf, a Caitian who grew up among Ferengi, and to the ship's other nonhuman officers, who must win the locals' trust and avert catastrophe through diplomacy.

On the ship, Tendi watches with growing concern as Captain Raffi Musiker leans ever harder on Sybil, the AI superintelligence that seems to have an answer for everything. The promise of never being wrong again proves dangerously tempting.
