Star Trek: Zero Point #2

Captain Raffi Musiker and the crew of the U.S.S. Endeavour are trapped beneath the hardening ice of a tidally locked planet, searching for an artifact buried below. Outside the hull there is only darkness and the occasional suggestion of something large moving through it. Musiker presses the search at the insistence of Sybil, a superintelligence wearing the face of a trusted Starfleet officer, who maintains that without the artifact Starfleet faces annihilation. Ensign D'Vana Tendi is not convinced, and the issue sets her doubts against her captain's certainty.
