This issue opens a new arc designed as a jumping-on point for Matt Kindt's long-running "psy-fi" series. Detectives Swon and Delphi believe that working together makes them impossible to surprise, though the question of whether Mind Management has cultivated that confidence hangs over the story. Their partnership and their unusual abilities are tested from several directions at once as Swon's feelings for Delphi begin to shift. Self-contained by design, the chapter continues the series' central premise of treating memory itself as the mystery to be solved.
