LIFE IS A DREAM

Pedro Calderón de la Barca's celebrated play gets a striking graphic novel adaptation by Ricardo Vilbor and Mario Sanz Mariscal.

Fearing a prophecy that his son will ruin the kingdom and kill him, King Basilio of Poland locks Prince Sigismond in a tower from birth. Thirty years on, doubt gets the better of the king and he sets the prince loose, only for Sigismond to lash out like a caged beast. Thrown back into captivity, he is persuaded that his taste of freedom was nothing but a dream. The people know better, and their revolt against Basilio may hand the crown to the very man they were taught to fear.

The book also includes the complete text of the play plus a study and discussion guide, making it a natural fit for classrooms and newcomers to comics alike.
