DEADLY TALES OF THE GUNSLINGER SPAWN #22

Gunslinger says goodbye to Lucy, Elroy and their child and stays on the Gulf Coast for some quiet. When outlaws hit a nearby target, he dispatches them fast, catching the eye of the local sheriff, who insists the two have crossed paths before. Tobias denies it, but the lawman’s story of an old encounter points to a startling twist: this man is not Tobias, but the first Gunslinger — the one who handed young Tobias his knife years ago.

The issue also checks in on Z and Ryder, then turns to the Changing Man, who is ordered to test this Gunslinger to the breaking point. Either he lives up to what he could be, or he gives up his power to someone who deserves it more.
