Verity "Very" Nelson can seemingly do anything: she's student body president, shines in the debate club, plays clarinet in the front row and can do more push-ups than anyone else. There's only one thing she just can't crack: math.

Despite hard work, math makes no sense in her head — and her presidency is on the line. In a remedial class she keeps trying, but the failures pile up. Only when a teacher recognizes the cause is there hope: Verity has dyscalculia, a learning disorder that causes numbers to get jumbled.

With this new perspective, Verity faces the challenge: can she pass math, keep her office and fulfill her promises to the student council — or will her perfect facade collapse?
