Mississippi, 1908: in sleepy Ponchatowla, a huge crate at the river port causes excitement – it contains a car! The town's first automobile, a simple Ford T acquired by the local large landowner, the „Colonel“, marks the beginning of a new era.

But the Colonel wants to soberly have the technical sensation converted into a tractor. His manager Rhod and especially his eleven-year-old grandson Jake suspect, however, that there is more in this vehicle.
