The Big Shakedown #3

Detective Ester Blanco has finally secured her way out of what remains of Los Angeles after the Big One: she has located the girl at the centre of her missing-persons case, and with her the money to excavate her apartment and leave for good. The complication is that the child is being held in the depths of a dangerous cult that regards her as the cosmic centre of its church, which makes extraction a rather different proposition from a payday.
