Percy Pickwick 23 (New Edition) #23
Releases on 12/31/2050
Story
After a quieter spell, Percy H. W. Pickwick, the savviest private detective in the United Kingdom since Sherlock Holmes, makes an impressive return. While his collected cases are being reissued in six hefty volumes, mysterious events shake British society to its foundations – right down to its insular identity. Even a former Colonel suddenly breaks with hallowed traditions and drives on the right-hand side of the road. Shocking!
The kingdom's highest authorities, foremost among them the insurance industry and the Royal Automobile Club, find themselves forced to step in – and who other than Pickwick could possibly investigate? Soon he's on a trail that points to a heinous conspiracy.
Eight years after his last appearance, the Colonel returns to his roots: writer Zidrou (e.g. »Rick Master«, »Lydie«) sets the story in 1960, in the era of the gentleman detective's first adventures by Raymond Macherot. The new adventure is drawn by Turk, who together with Bob de Groot shaped the classic Percy Pickwick between 1971 and 1983. The joy of reunion is great – and one anxious question remains: whatever became of Miss Partridge, his once-so-loyal housekeeper?
