The collected volumes of Johann & Peewit each gather three to four album-length stories in a premium hardcover. They tell the adventures of Johann, a fearless page and squire at the king's court, and his quick-witted companion Peewit – always accompanied by his strong-willed black goat Ricki.

On their travels they meet many remarkable characters, including the sorcerer Homnibus and his assistant Oliver. In an enchanted land they also encounter the little blue elves, the Smurfs, with whom they make friends and from then on fight evil together.
