The sequel to The Long Halloween follows a young Batman through his second year in Gotham, where a killer called the Hangman murders police officers and leaves a child's hangman puzzle at every scene. As the Falcone crime family crumbles, a new wave of costumed villains moves to claim the underworld, and District Attorney Harvey Dent edges toward his fate as Two-Face. Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale craft a noir mystery about loyalty, justice, and the cost of Batman's war on crime.
