Captain Seven of Nine faces a hard call. She can keep pressing on with a mission that looks increasingly hopeless, searching the Trinity System for a place the Revlavan colonists can settle, or she can turn back and bring everyone home to the Federation alive.

The Epsilon Corridor has shown nothing but hostility. Her crew is split, fewer of them remain each day, and something out there seems to be watching the ship come apart. Starfleet's purpose is still exploration, but Seven has to ask whether she is driven by duty or by pride.

Then a distress call rises from the surface of Trinity II. It may be a rescue, or it may be bait, and the decision is hers alone.
